What to do before using Kenji?
Before anything happens, it’s a good idea to get your account in shape. Doesn’t have to be perfect, just enough to look
real, active, and worth following.
That sets Kenji up to work more smoothly and helps avoid problems with Instagram flagging anything.
1. Get Moving Manually
If your account is brand-new or you haven’t touched it in a while...don’t just fire things up out of nowhere.
Instagram watches for sudden bursts of activity, especially on inactive or new accounts. It helps to spend a few days
engaging like a real person.
Here’s what that looks like:
- Like and comment on a few posts in your niche daily
- Follow some accounts you actually find interesting
- Answer any DMs or comments that show up in the meantime
You don’t have to go overboard. Just make it clear the account is being used before Kenji starts doing the rest.
2. Add Content That Tells People Who You Are
Think about what someone sees when they land on your profile. If there’s nothing there or it doesn't feel
amusing...they’ll bounce.
You don’t need a grid full of magazine-level photography. But before letting Kenji run, try posting at least 9 to 12
solid pieces of content. Photos, short videos, carousels — whatever fits.
The point is to give people a reason to follow you when they check out your page.
3. Clean Up Your Profile
This is the first thing people see, and it’s where most will decide if they follow you or not.
Make sure you’ve got:
- A profile picture that makes sense for your brand or style
- A clear bio that tells people what to expect
- Some interesting Highlights with designed covers (it's optional, but it adds the professional vibe to it)
It doesn’t have to be complicated — just don’t leave it empty.
4. Post Regularly
Instagram favors active accounts. So do real people. If someone checks out your page and it’s been weeks since your last
post, you’re probably not going to keep them around.
Here’s the simple version:
- Try to post at least twice a week (three times would be better, but we're not pushing it)
- Jump into comments or DMs if people reach out
- Post Stories even on days you’re not uploading to your feed
That kind of consistency gives Kenji more to work with, and it keeps your page feeling alive.
Quick Heads-Up
Kenji doesn’t rush. It starts off slow to keep things safe. If you’ve had issues before or just want a softer start,
send us a quick message, and we’ll tweak your settings for you.
