What actions does Kenji perform on your account?

Last updated on Apr 16, 2025

Kenji helps your Instagram grow by interacting with users in a way that looks natural and keeps your account visible. Each feature is designed to attract the right followers, improve engagement, and save you time!

Target-Based Engagement

Your growth starts with Targets. These are Instagram accounts and hashtags you choose that represent the kind of audience you want to attract. Kenji uses them to find people who are already engaging with similar content and starts interacting with them on your behalf.

You can update or replace your Targets anytime from the dashboard. Whether you’re aiming for followers in a specific niche, industry, or interest group, the system adjusts to your direction.

Of course, if your content is gender-specific, you can enable gender filtering in addition to many other filters to narrow down your audience.

Following Accounts

Kenji follows users based on your Targets to help you get new followers. When someone sees a new follow from an account that aligns with their interests, they’re more likely to check you out and follow back.

Remember, the more aligned your targets are, the better your results will be!

Unfollowing Accounts

After a short delay (2-4 days), Kenji unfollows all the users it has followed. Since most users will not follow you back right away, this is justified as it helps keep your following-to-followers ratio clean.

By default your total Followings number will never increase by more than 800 users from your starting point.

Auto-Whitelist

The Auto-Whitelist is one of Kenji’s built-in safety features. When you first connect your account, Kenji automatically whitelists everyone you’re already following. That way, they’re protected from being unfollowed by the system.

This means you don’t have to worry about losing important connections. Friends, collaborators, clients, and anyone you’ve already chosen to follow stay right where they are with no extra setup required.

Liking Posts

When someone follows your account, Kenji revisits their profile and likes a few of their most recent posts.

It’s a simple way to spark engagement and keep your account top of mind. In many cases, this small gesture leads to more interaction on your own content, because engagement on Instagram usually works both ways.

Story Viewing

Kenji views Stories from two main sources: accounts you already follow and accounts it follows on your behalf.

This creates passive visibility. When someone sees your name pop up in their viewer list multiple times, they’re more likely to check you out. It’s subtle but effective, especially when combined with other types of interaction.

Close Friends Adder

Kenji gradually adds your current and all future followers to your Close Friends list. This pushes your Stories closer to the top of their feed and gives them a green circle that stands out.

It’s especially useful if you want to get your engagement back on track or push your content to more of your followers.

Welcome DMs

Once someone follows you, Kenji automatically sends them a welcome message. You write the message, and the system delivers it.

Whether you want to thank new followers, share a link, or point them toward your best content, this is where you start that conversation without having to manually follow up.
